Magic Here 💌
The start of something new.
✳ Ta da! ✳
If you’re receiving this, it means you are among the very first subscribers of abracadabara!. First and foremost, thank you (more please) for joining us on this spiritual voyage, for the faith you put in Maddy and I, and for all the support we’ve received so far along the way.
We want to remind you that if you subscribe to our print publication, you get our paid-tier substack FOR FREE. Please do not bother paying for a subscription on substack unless you want to dip your toes in the waters for a few months before diving in to a full dose of magic.
A quick update on Issue 2: The Spiritual Cookbook.
It’s been sent off to the printer (our friend Evan) last week.
You’ll probably get it in November.
It’s going to be worth the wait.
Here’s a teaser, featuring an original painting by our pal Blake Rhein which will be letterpressed into the cover by Maddy. It’s based on traditional friendship quilts.
If you haven’t subscribed yet, do so before we sell out of Issue 1. Subscriptions make great holiday gifts for friends and loved ones. Once the first issue is out of print, we will offer a bundle on the next three issues, which we will do a slightly larger, still limited quantity of.
A few sources of magic that inspired Issue 2:
✍ Late nights under the stars by a bonfire with people you love
✍ Vintage Italian food posters
✍ That there’s no limit to the number of kisses you can give in your lifetime
✍ Mulberry stains on the sidewalk
✍ Every type of bird has a completely unique song
✍ Kaleidoscopes
✍ Stained glass
✍ Koi ponds
✍ The way water is sensitive to emotion when it freezes
✍ Afternoon thunderstorms
✍ Fireflies
✍ Whispering galleries
✍ Soulful Soireés
✍ Surprisingly getting the afternoon off of class / work
In other news:
We’re looking for help printing our next few issues. If you or someone you know might be interested in partnering with us on printing (we’re open to sponsorships, ad placements in physical or substack, work exchanges, etc.), please reach out to mag.abracadabra@gmail.com.
I got to write about the origins of abracadabra!, The Smudge, and meeting with Dr. J (Jenna Chusid) in person for the first time for the Why Is This Interesting substack.
Here is a quick playlist. Inspired by the Van Morrison song “Listen To The Lion,” much like Van, abracadabra! is an exercise in “looking for a brand new start.”

p.s. feel free to drop us a line in the chat. what are you manifesting? what do you wish we did / didn’t do? what magical encounters have you had as of late?

I am manifesting a 1996 cherry red Ford Ranger pickup. This week I got 1 new client, and 2 new paid opportunities. The extra income is helping me get my finances in order and pushing me one step closer to my goal. Thank you abracadabra!
I love projects like this, thank you.
I'm trying to manifest more time for myself, clarify priorities, and make FUN the top priority!
